Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how PIXEL ONLINE ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information when you use SimilarClip at https://similarclip.com (the "Service").

We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

1. What the Service does

SimilarClip is an AI-assisted video creation platform. You provide a YouTube link or a text topic, and the Service generates a script, images, voice narration, and a finished video, and can publish it to your YouTube channel on a schedule you configure.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Account information

• Name, email address, and profile image
• Hashed password (if you register with email and password)
• Account role, status, and settings you configure (style preferences, voice preferences, default comment text, and similar)

2.2 Google / YouTube account data

If you sign in with Google or connect a YouTube channel, we receive and store:

• OAuth access tokens, refresh tokens and ID tokens (used to sign you in and to upload videos to YouTube on your behalf)
• Basic YouTube channel information: channel ID, title, handle, and thumbnail

We request the Google scopes youtube.upload, youtube.readonly and youtube.force-ssl. Our use of Google user data is limited to providing the Service's features: signing you in, listing your channels, uploading videos you have generated, and posting a first comment where you have enabled that option.

2.3 Session and technical data

• IP address and browser user-agent string, stored with each login session for security purposes
• Session tokens (see section 7 on cookies)

2.4 Billing information

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number. We store your Stripe customer ID and a transaction ledger (amounts, plan, credit movements, Stripe session/invoice references) so we can manage your subscription and credit balance.

2.5 Content you provide and content we generate

• Inputs you give us: YouTube URLs, topic prompts, style prompts, narration instructions, niche/topic queue entries, and first-comment text
• Assets produced while fulfilling your jobs: transcripts, scripts, generated images, generated audio, thumbnails, and final videos, stored in our object storage under your job IDs
• Information about videos published to your YouTube channel through the Service

3. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

• Create and manage your account and authenticate you
• Provide the Service: run your video-generation jobs, store generated assets, and publish to YouTube at your direction
• Process payments, manage subscriptions and AI-usage credits, and keep billing records
• Operate your per-user AI API key (provisioned with our AI gateway, spend-limited to your credit balance, stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM)
• Send transactional email (currently password-reset emails only)
• Secure the Service, prevent abuse and fraud (including optional CAPTCHA checks), and debug problems
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your content or personal information to train AI models ourselves, and we do not sell your personal information.

4. Third-party service providers

We disclose personal information to the following categories of providers, only as needed to operate the Service:

Some of these providers are located overseas (including the United States) or process data in multiple countries. By using the Service, you consent to this overseas disclosure. Where required by the Privacy Act, we take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle personal information consistently with the APPs.

Note that the videos you publish are sent to YouTube under your own YouTube account and are then governed by Google's terms and privacy policy.

5. AI processing

The Service's core function is sending your prompts, topics, and source transcripts to AI models (via OpenRouter) to generate scripts, images, audio, and metadata. Do not submit personal information about other people, or confidential information, in prompts unless you have the right to do so. AI model providers process this data according to their own policies and our arrangements with the gateway.

6. Data retention

• Generated assets and jobs are kept until you delete the job (which deletes the associated files from storage) or close your account.
• Account data is kept while your account is active. You may request account deletion at any time (see section 9).
• Billing records (transactions, invoices) are kept as required by Australian tax and corporations law, generally for at least 5 years.
• Sessions expire automatically and are removed after expiry.
• Unused subscription plan credits expire at the end of each billing period as part of how the Service is billed; this is a commercial expiry, not a deletion of personal information.

7. Cookies and tracking

The Service uses only strictly necessary cookies: a server-set session cookie that keeps you signed in. We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or browser local storage for tracking. Stripe and Cloudflare Turnstile may set their own cookies during checkout or CAPTCHA verification, governed by their respective privacy policies.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information, including: encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, AES-256-GCM encryption of stored API keys, scoped OAuth tokens, and access controls on our database and storage. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; if we become aware of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

9. Your rights and choices

Under the Privacy Act you may:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or out-of-date information
• Delete your jobs and generated assets yourself from within the Service
• Request account deletion by contacting us — we will delete your account and associated personal information, subject to records we must retain by law
• Revoke YouTube access at any time via the Service settings or your Google account security settings
• Complain about our handling of your personal information (see section 10)

10. Complaints

If you believe we have breached the APPs, contact us first at [email protected] and we will investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at https://www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

11. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be posted at this address with its "last updated" date. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you (for example, by email or a notice in the Service). Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
